Made most famous by Boy Band wonder Ronan Keating, this song is a treat to the ears. Specially so if you pay attention to the amazing lyrics it has got to offer. This features as an OST in the mushy flick Notting Hill - a nice one to watch.
Much as I hate typical boy-bands, Ronan Keating is one who actually pleases the discerning listener. I just love these lyrics....
TRIVIA:
It was originally released by a country/bluegrass artist called Keith Whitley, and then covered by Alison Krauss, and the AK version is far better than the Ronan Keating version, but the KW version is just wonderful. So, Ronan Keating's song is in fact a cover for a cover!
It's amazing how you can speak right to my heart
Without saying a word you can light up the dark
Try as I may I could never explain
What I hear when you don't say a thing
The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes sayin' you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all
All day long I can hear people talking out loud
But when you hold me near, you drown out the crowd
Try as they may, they could never define
What's being said between your heart and mine
The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes sayin' you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all
Moral: Never judge a song by its 'cover'
:-)
